Update Central
Aug. 19th, 2007 06:17 pmHey people. I know I've been blog quiet for a while, but my life has been pretty crazy lately - a lot of running around like the proverbial headless chicken.
When last I posted, I was heading off to Israel. The trip was too short, but amazing nonetheless. I visited old places and saw things I'd never seen before. Hopefully soon the pictures will be up on my flickr site soon. Don't expect to see too many pictures of people, my mom doesn't want the little kiddies up on the glorious world wide web for all to see and stalk. But there will be Israel, in all her scenic glory.
In the last 2 weeks, I've been to 2 weddings. One was T.S. and M.R. (well, I guess she's T.R. now). I actually flew back from Israel to be able to go to the wedding. The wedding was on the smaller side (less than 200 people), and I think that T and M actually knew everyone there. They had obviously had a large hand in planning their own wedding, and it showed. The wedding was fun, the food was good, and halfway through the last dance set the mechitza, (partition, in this case some pretty trees down the center of the dance floor), was pushed aside and there was mixed dancing. I danced with M.K., his girlfriend A.F.,
dovidmordachai, his girlfriend D.F., and most importantly,
skywalker363. We'd never really danced together before then. Neither of us are very good, but we had fun. It was sweet, cute, and charming. (EDITOR'S NOTE - originally that was I. I was, in fact, sweet, cute and charming. Also more than slightly tipsy.)
By contrast, last week I was at a friend's wedding (I have to call her a friend, when you've known someone since you were 3 they're your friend). There were almost 600 people there. Even her parents didn't know everyone there. Not something I'd particularly want, but I suppose it takes all kinds.
That's sort of the sum total of what I've been doing, other than the knitting. That's sort of a constant. That and seeing
skywalker363 on a regular basis and not daring to think about the end of the summer.
